Bio: Buffy is the main protagonist in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She is ‘the Slayer’, one in a long line of young women chosen by fate to battle evil forces. This mystic calling endows her with dramatically increased physical strength, as well as endurance, agility, accelerated healing, intuition, and a limited degree of clairvoyance, usually in the form of prophetic dreams. She the leader of the ‘Scooby Gang’ aptly named from their constant ability to foil plots of evil doers. Buffy receives guidance from her Watcher, Rupert Giles. Giles, rarely referred to by his first name, is a member of the Watchers’ Council, whose job is to train and assist the Slayers. Giles researches the supernatural creatures that Buffy must face, offering insights into their origins and advice on how to kill them.
Buffy is also helped by friends she meets at Sunnydale High: Willow Rosenberg and Xander Harris. Willow is originally a bookish wallflower; she provides a contrast to Buffy’s outgoing personality, but shares the social isolation Buffy suffers after becoming a Slayer.
Love Interests: Throughout the first three seasons, Buffy is with Angel, who happens to be a vampire with a soul. This means that unlike most vampires Angel doesn’t want to kill humans, and he is in the fight for good, but it does mean that he possesses the vampirical strength and aversion to sunlight, crosses and holy water. Buffy’s next love interest was Riley Finn, through season four and the first part of season five. Buffy and Riley met at college, when Buffy first started, and they met in the episode aptly titled ‘The Freshman’. Buffy’s third and final love interest was Spike, another vampire, who at first was mortal enemies with Buffy until Spike developed strong feelings for Buffy, to which Buffy was repulsed by until she couldn’t hold back much longer and gave into his seduction.
